COVID-19 impact: Surgeries are NOT currently being performed at Humane Society of the Piedmont in Greensboro. At this time, the spay/neuter clinic is closed until further notice. We are suspending our signup until we know more. We will keep current registrations on file and contact you by e-mail when we know of a surgery date.
Cats and dogs MUST be at least 13 weeks of age for surgery and rabies vaccination.
Cats/dogs must weigh at least 3 lbs. However, for cats we recommend a minimum of 4 lbs and dogs 5 lbs.
Your pet will receive a rabies vaccination at the clinic and you will be charged, unless you provide a COPY of a current rabies certificate to go with the pet. A rabies tag is not sufficient, it must be the certificate.
Clinic is the 4th Monday of every month.
Check- in is Monday between 8-8:30AM, at the VFW pavilion on County Home Rd next to the prison.
The surgery takes place at the spay/neuter clinic at the Humane Society of the Piedmont in Greensboro. Transportation is provided for the pets from Yanceyville to the clinic. The pets are transported in an especially equipped van with heat and air conditioning. Each pet must be in an individual pet carrier for safety. If you do not have a pet carrier, you can borrow one from us. Pets stay overnight at the clinic after surgery at return to the VFW pavilion Tuesday at approximately 11AM.
